New packaging for Lars

thanks a bunch lars cards amidst blooms

You know when you discover a shop or product and you think “Finally! Something I no longer have to search for!” and you tuck it away in your magical trove of places you love? That’s how I feel about MOO. I’ve heard about MOO and always been impressed when I receive a business card from MOO, but now having had the full experience, I’m a convert. And not because they’re paying me to say this. I’d shout them from the rooftops regardless.

If you are unfamiliar, moo.com is an online print shop that specializes in well-designed products like business cards, postcards, stickers, etc. They even do gold foil and letterpress. Sigh. All the paper is so lovely to feel which for this paper lover, is a MUST!

Mother’s day floral cake topper

Mother's Day cake topper flower-garden-cake-topper

I get my love of flowers from my mama. I grew up with her teaching me how to identify each of the various types, dressing in all floral dresses (product of the 80s I suppose 🙂 and watching The Secret Garden on repeat. Just last week when she was up here visiting, we went nursery hopping and she helped me pick out flowers for my new flower planters (and watching The Secret Garden again, of course).

This Mother’s Day, I partnered up with Hallmark Signature to select a card that reminded me of my mother. I just had to go with a bright and colorful floral number, clearly. We were so inspired by the shapes, dimensions and colors that we thought we had to add it to our celebratory festivities. Such an extraordinary mom called for no ordinary card and no ordinary cake. We made her this flower garden inspired cake topper to coordinate with the pretty embellishments of the card. Get the template and instructions below!

Making dreams come true

Random Acts on BYUtv

A few months ago I got a call to participate on the new BYUtv show, Random Acts. The premise was this: you’ll be involved with helping Shelby, whose debilitating sickness took a turn for the worse a few years ago and forced her to give up her music scholarship, make her dreams come true by surprising her with playing with the Orchestra at Temple Square and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Chills up and down my body.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

In fact, the whole show is the opposite of Punk’d: pranks with good things, random acts of kindness as the title indicates. Yes, I’m all about this. The show premiered last night and it was so fun to see it all come together.   Read on →

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

Cinco de Mayo Dinner Party with Joss and Main

Call in the conquistadores, because we’re about to show them how to fiesta (the right way). Cinco de Mayo stands for celebration. Here in the studio, we honestly don’t know how to celebrate without color–and lots of it. Bright lipstick, authentic food, and decorative skirts; pair these with a selection of handmade papel picados and Joss & Main dinnerware and decor, and your fiesta will blow 1862 out of the water.

Joss & Main asked us to throw a Cinco de Mayo party, and we never turn down a good party! So, sit back, relax (with a Coca-Cola), and see how to create the brightest fiesta celebration in this century. Read on →

DIY paper flower bells

Paper bluebells

I’ve received a ton of questions about the paper flower bluebells and pink bells that we featured in our bridesmaid party shoot for BHLDN and I’m most happy to show you how I made them. I based the tutorial off of Morgan Levine’s lily of the valley tutorial on Martha Stewart. I love the versatility created with color and shape. They’d be wonderful as centerpieces for a party or even as decoration in your home. I’m going to be making some for my mantle! pink-tutorial-flowers
