Adorned with a paper holly leaf, you can write their name and a sweet sentiment. These holly berry surprise balls are the perfect evening activity. Paper Poinsettia Flowers

DIY Paper Poinsettia Flower

I used to think Poinsettia flowers were one of the lesser flowers on my “favorites list”. I felt like Christmas deserved a much lovelier blossom to represent its magical qualities. That was until I realized that poinsettias were more than just the gold cellophane wrapped arrangements at the grocery store or the tacky silk ones at the craft store. Poinsettias can be found in the most stunning colors and varieties! There are speckled versions, bright pink varieties, and much more. After this revelation, I knew it was time to make some Paper Poinsettia Flowers. It’s one that has been requested over and over by readers throughout the years.

Crepe paper is the perfect medium to add some texture to the petals and have some fun with color. From speckles to brush strokes, these poinsettias will give their real counterparts a run for their money! We teamed up with Cricut so you can easily download the SVG files and your Cricut Maker will cut out all the pieces in no time! Yes, the new Cricut Maker cuts crepe paper! It’s a Christmas Miracle!

Paper Flower Corsage and Customized Ribbon

Paper Flower CorsageWith school back in session, everyone seems to be back to the grind. However, it’s not all doom and gloom this month! I’ve been noticing the preparation for homecoming festivities at the local high schools and universities around here. Homecoming means football, friends, family, and dancing. It’s a time to celebrate a new year and recognize years past. Something we can all get behind, am I right?!

Paper Flower Corsage

Inspired by the traditional homecoming dances, we wanted to create a beautiful paper flower corsage you could don at a homecoming dance, and even a wedding or other special occasion. Not just any corsage though. This one is entirely handmade out of paper with lovely personalized details to ensure that you can keep it for years to come. We’ve teamed up with Brother to add a personalized ribbon using their P-Touch Embellish ribbon and tape printer. You can display your name, school, graduation date, or whatever catches your fancy on the ribbon! Tucked into the paper flower corsage, this makes a beautiful, customized accessory, and an even lovelier keepsake.

A Cut Above the Rest: Scissor Guide

Guide to how to use scissorsAfter celebrating Fiskars 50th Anniversary of the orange-handled scissors, we realized just how critical scissors are in our day to day life here at Lars. We use scissors here all the time! And let me tell you, one size does not fit all, folks. Whether you’re a serious crafter, an embroidery enthusiast, or one who prefers printables, there is a pair of scissors out there you didn’t know you needed. The right pair of scissors can make a huge difference depending on the type of project you’re working on. That’s where we come in. I’m pretty sure there is no such thing as a scissor expert, but if there was, give me the certificate right now! We’ve rounded up the best pairs of scissors on the market, explaining their strengths and ideal projects to make with them. Read on →
