Danes love them some summer time. And can you blame them when winter is basically 3/4 of the year? Get out there in the sun while you can! Quick! It won’t last long! A lot of them spend their spare time at “summer houses” (sommerhus). My friend Maria used my paper flowers to decorate her sommerhus for a women’s magazine here, Alt for Damerne and I LOVE how it turned out. How refreshing to see logs covered in white. So Danish!
I’m off to enjoy my first Copenhagen Fashion Week show. Wahoo!
Quite awhile back a reader let me in on a little secret: Tage Andersen. I was told that there were lines to get into his Copenhagen floral shop. I have yet to attempt the seemingly impossible, so I thought I’d share a few pics. These aren’t just flowers, it’s art. Enjoy!
Dear readers, I’m so pleased to announce a little project that Cramer and I, with support from our British counterpart, have whipped up in a few short weeks. Although we’re a bit late entering the game, we have arrived with GUSTO to present our line of souvenirs celebrating the wedding on Prince William and Kate Middleton later this month.
Now, to all of you who have known me since I was a wee little one, this will come as no surprise as you and I both know that I was going to marry Prince William. After a couple of trips to England with no royal invitation to meet HRH, I knew it was time to MOVE ON. So, I met and married my Danish prince and William, clearly heartbroken, finally decided to move on too and propose to his gf of 10 years. About time, buddy! And I give my full support. We have come up with tote bags, keychains, mugs, commemorative plates all celebrating the wedding of the year. Check it all out now on out Etsy shop and place your pre-order. Our products will be ready any day now so now’s your chance! Not only that, but Paul and I will be in London the weekend of the royal wedding selling souvenirs with our dear friends on PORTOBELLO ROAD so come and visit and tell your friends! We can’t wait to be there with the masses in our little booth exploiting this wedding! I’ll be the one in the mock wedding dress.
I walked into Magasin du Nord, a big department store here, and what did I see? Huge, paper, colorful flowers everwhere! In the store windows, in the make-up aisles, on the men’s sweaters tables. Ring a bell? Now, in my dreams the window dressers are regular readers of this here blog and couldn’t help but get thrilled at the idea of paper and flowers from our wedding. K, I won’t flatter myself, but Magasin, I would love to help you out on your next season’s decor. Let me know, could be fun.
…but ever just right. I’m not sure I’d ever have the courage to do a room so dark like this but if you pair this teal with the right colors like tomato red, plum, mustard and a rich brown, it hits the spot. I’ve been collecting images for this post for some time so let’s see if I saved the resources…
