perfection.

I’ve showed this top image before, but it’s such perfection that I need to show it again and show a couple of others. This is what I have in mind when we sell our souvenirs at Portobello Road the day of the royal wedding: floral, loud & proud. And yes, perched on bags of rice.

paper dresses

Holy cow. I had to do a few double takes when I stumbled upon these beauties. Isabelle de Borchgrave creates historical dress creations out of paper. PAPER! The one above is inspired by Marie de Medici from 1555. Her works are on display in a show called “Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgravea” at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco.
This one is based off of a Charles Frederick Worth dress from 1898

Her works are about “loving something, absorbing it, and giving it back. My goal is to find myself in front of a dress that gives me the same shock I got at the Metropolitan.” Check out the full feature on 1st Dibs. This is yet another one to be filed under “dream jobs.”
