DIY rainbow pom

St. Patrick’s Day means many things but around here it means EVEN MORE RAINBOWS than normal–and we already live in a rainbow-filled world. We’ve been spotting lots of motif-themed poms and thought it would be fun to try it out our own DIY rainbow pom. It’s just like normal pom-making but with some layering and cutting involved. It’s much simpler than you might expect! We added on some solid colored poms to create a tassel. Together they’d be great to hang on a bag to get your festive green in.

Rainbow Paper Pumpkin Tablescape

If you’re looking to colorize your Thanksgiving table for the upcoming festivities, this Rainbow Paper Pumpkin tablescape is just the ticket! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and is the ideal time to create a really beautiful tablescape. The beauty with this arrangement is that not only is it colorful, festive, and beautiful, it’s paper and completely disposable, making it perfect for a meal with kids. You don’t need to worry about broken dishes or decor, you can simply enjoy the meal and the company!

Rainbow Paper Pumpkin Tablescape

Each pumpkin is made from 1 piece of ASTROBRIGHTS®paper and some craft wire, making it extremely inexpensive to boot. Astrobrights Paper offers the most vibrant colored paper and we were so enamored that we knew we had to create a rainbow arrangement. We used almost the colors in the Spectrum Assorted Cardstock pack to create a beautiful rainbow.

See how easy it is to replicate with Astrobrights Paper!

Rainbow Care Package

Rainbow Care package

We all have that friend that manages to say the right thing at the right time, gives the perfect gifts, and calls right when you need to chat. I want to be that person! So I’m taking some inspiration from my all time favorite childhood icon: Care Bears! You can probably guess that Cheer Bear is my favorite on account of our mutual love of rainbows. Cheer Bear is all about joy, optimism, and happiness, things we all could use a bit more of in our lives. So we’re teaming up with Care Bears to give away a care package chock-full of rainbow goodies, including Cheer Bear and our book Craft the Rainbow. So whether you need some cheering up or have a friend in mind, enter the giveaway for a chance to win! Read on →

How to plant a Rainbow Container Garden

Rainbow Container Garden

We selected our current apartment while we were still living in Denmark. Because we hadn’t seen it in person before we moved in, we didn’t quite know what we had to work with. A garden wasn’t necessarily on my list of things I “had to have”, but I was so pleasantly surprised to find that I had a little bit of garden to work with once I got here. Our landlords do a phenomenal job at keeping it up, but they said I could add in some of my own flower selections. That was 5 years ago. I have since been bit by the gardening bug and consider it one of my most (and few!) hobbies that I have outside of work.

This year I wanted to make it more colorful than years past and in honor of Craft the Rainbow our new book and this little board book that I read to Jasper nearly every day (here) , I created a rainbow container garden for the front porch. I only added them in a couple of weeks ago so they haven’t had time to flourish yet, but I thought I’d post about it so you can get started to and then we can watch them grow together and keep each other updated.

Here are some things I’ve done to get it going and a list of flower divided by color that you can add to your garden: Read on →
