These days, I tend to associate the mail box with bills, yet I still get a giddy joy every time I see something in the mail box. When I opened up the box last week, not only did that giddy joy return, but upon further inspection, I started to laugh out loud. As in LOL. My sister had sent me a telegram requesting my immediate return to America. I felt so Elizabeth Bennet for a moment. I did a little research and found out that there’s a company in Australia, Telegram Stop, that sends out telegrams the old-fashioned way. All you do is type in your message, provide the addresses and voila, a couple of days later, your chosen receives an adorable message complete with stops.* Anywhoo, I contacted the company and they have agreed to give Lars readers a 10% discount on all telegrams. Wahoo! Just use the code LARSHOUSE at this site.

Greetings from Provence! I write this while my mom sleeps. I wonder if she’ll ever wake knowing what she’s been through in the last 4 days. She took the longest flight ever (LAX>Istanbul>CPH) to come visit me all before jumping on a plane to Nice. THEN, after a 3 hour drive through the Southern villages of France (top left photo), we arrived in our little apartment where we are staying for the weekend. Needless to say, I hope she sleeps all day! Our apartment is situated in the Luberon Valley and we are more than thrilled to be here. The colors! The building materials! The temperature! (I speak in exclamation marks far too much). It feels like a dream. I can’t wait to write more about it for you.
This week has been quite eventful. Paul and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary at a little restaurant located in the plaza of the bottom right photo. We had some friends from England come to visit us and we got to do some site seeing including the Little Mermaid (top right). Sunday we visited with Paul’s adorable niece in her darling neighborhood with thatched roof houses (middle right). If you’ve been wondering how I transport my oversized paper flowers around without a car, let me tell you, it takes creativity. And lots of twine, (middle left). (Bottom left), having some fun with the French murals in our little town.

I made some monogram stationery for Brooklyn Bride last week. You can download all 26 letters of the alphabet and then print off the letter of your choice to make your own stationery set. All you have to do is cut it out. Easy beazy. The cards are a standard 4 bar size (3 1/2 x 4 7/8″) so if you find an envelope at 3 5/8 x 5 1/8″ you’re golden. I had such a ball pairing the colors together. My kind of relaxation! Click here for the Brooklyn Bride’s download.
In case you live under a rock or fail to subscribe to the same multitude of fashion-related e-mail newsletters that I do, New York Fashion Week is upon us. So, in an ode to one of my favorite designers, Lauren Moffatt, today’s “Outfit to Room” features a darling look, aptly titled “the Catcher in the Rye Sally” colorblock dress.
