I started this post with the bedroom because it’s been scientifically proven to be one of the best bedrooms of all time. Obviously. As I tried finding the right “This girl” who would reflect such awesomeness I couldn’t bear that any other have this room so I had to put myself in. And yes, to answer your question, I had problems sharing as a kid.
During the holiday season in Denmark every store carries advent candles. We currently have one single advent candle for every day leading up to Christmas as well as a set of 24 candles, one marked for each day. I’ve never seen them in the states so I thought I’d make my own. I realize it’s a little late in the advent game, but a thought for next year.
You will need a plain-o candle, a paint pen, and ruler. I used centimeters to fit the size of my candle. A 9 1/2″ candle perfectly fits 24 centimeters and therefore 24 days. Happy adventing!
I have so many projects still that I want to make, but alas, not enough days anymore. I will have a special edition Christmas Eve version tomorrow. Muhaha.
I saw these bows on some beautiful wrapping and decided to try it out on some of the gift bags I did for Oh Happy Day. I love the trompe l’oeil effect it creates. You could do a bunch of bows at the same time for lots of gifts.
Only two more days left of Christmas crafts…we can do it, we can do it, we can do it.
how to photograph yourself in the mirror? not in focus!
Really great view of the painted-over 3 layers of wallpaper.
Still not centered but at least remembered to smile…
At the bank the other day, the teller was wearing a cute tiny santa hat. It was so presh I’ve been thinking about it ever since and wanting to recreate it. The one I did today is still a tad too big, but I still like it. These days there’s only a small window to take pictures in natural “daylight” (grey skies) from 10am-2pm and since I was out selling my Language of Flower items at a market, I had to race home to an already sunsetted sun. This is me getting desperate in our hallway mirror. How do you take pictures of yourself?!?! On the bright side, today is the shortest day of the year, which means it can only get better. Hallelujah!
I used Jordan’s party hat template and instructions to make this santa hat and then stuck in a bobby pin. I thought they’d be great for a Christmas party or like the bank teller, at work.
I needed a little va-va-va voom to my boring bicycle so I took some Christmas greenery and wired it around to form a wreath. I found it’s much much easier to make wreaths with a form, but since I was wiring it to a basket anyway, I could create any shape I wanted with it. I added some Danish ribbon saying “God jul” or “Merry Christmas” and hope it doesn’t get stolen like my last basket.
