DIY Shamrock scrunchie

How to wear green on St Patrick’s dayEvery time I hear the word “scrunchie” I 1) cringe 2) hearken back to my oversized sweatshirts and bunches up socks 3) repeat “my lucky srunchie. It helped me pass Spanish.” (Name that movie). So today, now that scrunchies have some way made their way back into our vocabulary, we are making a lucky scrunchie with this DIY shamrock scrunchie, just in time for St. Patrick’s day.

DIY Shamrock Scrunchie

  • Fabric of your choice about and 1/8 of a yard
  • Template
  • 5” of 1/4” elastic
  1. Using the template, draw the two shapes into your fabric. Make 4 shapes total.
  2. Cut out an 3×18” piece of fabric and sew longwise, leaving a 1/4” seam. Turn it inside out and press. Run an elastic through and stitch. Handsew the two end pieces of fabric together.
  3. Tie one of the bone shapes left over right. Tie the other bone shape on right over it right over left. This will form the shamrock on the scrunchie.

Voila!
