2014 Scandinavian floral wall calendar & giveaway

It’s here! I’m so pleased to release my new lines of cards and calendars this week. I’m going to release one a day over the next few days here on the blog starting with my favorite new item, my 2014 floral calendar.

Check it out on The House That Lars Built Etsy shop

You know what I did? I took my Language of Flowers calendar and used the same pattern but replaced it with beautiful flowers. I loved seeing the illustrated version come to life in real flowers.

To celebrate the release, I’m giving away one each of all my new products to one person. Here are the rules for entering:

  1. “Like” The House That Lars Built on Facebook or Instagram
  2. Leave a comment below telling me that you’ve entered and how.
  3. Share this giveaway for extra votes.
Ready? Go! You have until Monday, October 21st to enter.

And YES, I’m selling them wholesale. Email me at thehousethatlarsbuilt@gmail.com for more info.

A huge thank you to Cassidy Tuttle for her beautiful photography skills, Quinn Peterson of QP Collections for letting me use his rad house for this shoot, and Mary Lee for her amazing treasure trove of goodies.

Freshly picked daffodils

We all know I love me some paper flowers. Mostly because I kill live ones, but also because they are so darn delightful. I have some new patterns I’ve created so I’ll be selling some brand new models of flowers within the coming weeks. The first is the daffodil so spring will last forever! They’re now available on the Etsy shop. You can buy them in singles or in bunches. OR contact me for special orders thehousethatlarsbuilt@gmail.com

Order these flowers from The House That Lars Built Etsy shop.

Smell the roses on Valentine’s day

I was honored to be asked to make some gift toppers for Terrain for the holiday season and I decided to keep the flower momentum going for Valentine’s day. I handcrafted some roses in 5 colors–off-white, lavendar, yellow, light pink, grey–and topped them off with some handpainted details on the leaf and bloom. They’re perfect to top a gift or give as a single flower to your love–romantic or platonic.

Order them today on the The House That Lars Built Etsy shop. Choose from Pink, purple, off-white, grey, yellow.

Limited Edition!

If you’ve been wondering why things have been a bit spotty on the blog recently it’s because I’ve been on overload producing a few batches of these paper flower gift toppers. Here’s the story: I was approached by Terrain (a sister company of Urban Outfitters) a few months back to develop some limited edition gift topper flowers as well as my 2013 Language of Flowers calendar. Several hundred handmade paper flowers later they are now available for purchase and I’m so pleased to finally spill the beans! Now, I had high hopes (and was a bit delusional) that I could do it all on my on. Readers, I was insane. There are some times in life where you need a bit of help and I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m just so thankful for the help of my assistants Karen who has gone above and beyond, also Josh, my sister-in-law who came in on some Saturdays to help cut, and Paul, who realized that his gift in life is not cutting flowers but came to help anyway! Thank you thank you thank you! You can choose between a poppy, tulip, and ranunculus.

For now, you can order them on Terrain’s website. I will be releasing them on my Etsy shop in early 2013 (2013?! wha?!?!)

Carnival ticket business cards

Last fall when my sister and I were shopping for fun materials, I stopped dead in my tracks when I came across these beautiful sherbet carnival tickets. I didn’t know WHAT I was going to use them for I just knew they were amazing and had to be a part of my life. Watermelon, lemon, mint, bubble gum, orange…yummy. Well, I finally figured it out…they are my new business cards.
First, I got a custom rubber stamp made with my info and then I got my stamping game on. Well, in full disclosure, my patient husband got his stamping game on. He’s very nice. And loves me a lot.
I thought it’d be fun at networking events (like The Hive in May) to go around with rolls of tickets and then people can choose their color. I ALSO thought it’d be super fun to act as if they were money and I was super rich and took a swim in them like Duck Tales. If only that were true…I’ll be sticking the Duck Tales outtakes on the Facebook page.
