With Cinco de Mayo this week we decided to add to the celebration with a special version of our popular DIY Head vase tutorial: Frida Kahlo, of course! With her signature flowers in the hair, a vase was a perfect vessel to keep them in tact! Learn how to make it below!
DIY Frida Kahlo head vase:
Follow the instructions here to make the head vase but change the features of the face so it appears more like Frida. Paint a unibrow (essential!), red lips, and lots of rouge.
To make the hair:
Materials:
- black crepe paper
- scissors
- glue gun
- black paint
- Cut the crepe paper into small strips about 3′ long
- Braid the strips into one braid
- Glue the braid onto the head.
- Paint the back of the head black. Paint another layer if necessary
