  Launched in 2008 as a blog by founder Brittany Watson Jepsen, The House That Lars Built has become an award-winning lifestyle brand and design company that includes an online shop, various licensed product lines, sponsored content with brands, and daily editorial content with a focus on colorful design, decor, crafting, and joyful moments from everyday life.

  The Role
  We’re looking for a talented, imaginative Illustrator to collaborate with our team on a part-time contract basis. This role is perfect for someone who loves whimsical, design-forward illustration and can bring fresh, playful visuals to life across digital and print projects.

  You’ll work closely with our team to create illustrations that feel vibrant, thoughtful, and unmistakably Lars.

  Responsibilities

  • Create original illustrations for products for our online shop
  • Develop illustrations for potential collaborations
  • Translate creative briefs into engaging visual concepts
  • Maintain brand consistency while bringing your own creative perspective
  • Revise artwork based on feedback and project needs
  • Deliver final assets on schedule and in required formats

  Qualifications

  • Strong illustration portfolio with a distinctive, colorful style
  • Experience with digital illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with lifestyle, design, or creative brands is a plus
  • Passion for color, pattern, and playful design
