Introducing: Royal Wedding Collection

Royal wedding commemorative souvenirs

Check out our new Online Shop!

In 2011 I boarded a plane from Copenhagen, Denmark to London to attend the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. I grew up with a very sure knowledge that I was going to marry Prince William one day but after realizing that the dream might have been a little skewed, I figured if you don’t marry royalty, at least you can attend their wedding! In preparation for the big day, I designed a line of commemorative goods to sell at a rented booth on Portobello Road and on my online shop. It was an amazing experience and one of my very first business endeavors at Lars!Royal wedding commemorative stationery set

I received such a wonderful response to that first line of royal wedding products (here!)  that I knew I had to do another in honor of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Without further ado, I introduce The Royal Wedding Collection! These royal weddings are the fairytales of our time and I wanted to help everyone remember this special occasion. This collection also kicks off the opening of our new online shop! I invite you to go explore and check back often. We have some magical things in store for you and I don’t want you to miss any of it!

I was on KSL’s Studio 5 with Brooke Walker earlier this week where I gave an exclusive sneak peek of the collection along with a demonstration on how to create paper fascinators from this tutorial.

Let’s take a look at the Royal Wedding Collection!

May 2018 Wallpaper Calendar

April 2018 Wallpaper Calendar

I have big dreams for my future garden. You probably know of my strong affinity for flowers. I love to smell them, pick them, buy them, make them, send them, look at them, and even watch them: Secret Garden and Anne of Green Gables are two of my all-time favorite films. Now I haven’t always had the greenest thumb, nor the space to cultivate my dream garden, but I have plans! The April 2018 Wallpaper Calendar by Monica Lynch is the perfect illustration of what I want my garden to look like! And a tree full of pink blossoms? Sign me up!

Colored my Kitchen to help me Cook

As you might know by now, I rarely step foot in a kitchen. I really don’t have much to do there. Cook? As if! But I LOVE all things kitchen design. The hardware, the cabinetry, the accessories, oh my! In my dreams I’m designing a line of kitchenware–items I’ll never use but gaze at for their beauty. I love adding beautiful tea towels, an adorable butter dish, potted plants (see above). I figure if it’s beautiful I might somehow trick myself into wanting to spend more time there. So far, no dice.

Additionally, aside from my lack of culinary skills, the kitchen isn’t my favorite room in my house. It’s tucked around the side of my house and doesn’t receive much light. It’s always felt a bit stale in color and energy in comparison to the rest of the more lived-in spaces. Though we rent our walk-out basement apartment, our landlords are the best and they have always said we can do whatever we want to the space, but, it IS a rental after all, and we always thought it would be a more temporary housing solution so we haven’t invested much into it.

You can imagine how thrilled I was to partner with BEHR®Paint once again (remember Baby’s nursery or our studio mural?) and participate in their upcoming Color Clinic event, the same event we participated in last year, by adding some color love to our kitchen. YES PLEASE, I said. This kitchen of mine could certainly use some help so I might as well experience first it to help you know what to do for your own kitchen makeover. As I’ve come to learn, paint makes such a world of difference! Artful board books for babies

Artful board books for babies

I thought reading books to a newborn would be a little premature, but I’ve been shocked at how much attention Baby J pays to each and every page I show him. He looks intently–maybe it’s because he really doesn’t have much choice in the matter. Ha! While I’ve been “reading” him these books, I’m astonished at cleverly written and illustrated they are. There’s a lot you can pack into one cardboard page! I’ve found quite a number of really beautiful, clever, and artful books for baby and I thought you might be interested in them too. There are some goodies here!

The round up includes books written by famous artists, illustrated by famous artists, or a focus on explaining about famous artist and art in general. Do you have any to add to the list? Please add in the comments!
