Usually, when a woman first gets engaged, her thoughts turn to the wedding dress. It can be a difficult process to choose the perfect dress: You often have to try on dozens of dresses, visit multiple shops, it may take months to ship, and there are almost always alterations for size and customization. Have you ever seen “Say Yes to the Dress”? It can get pretty intense! I was lucky, or maybe crazy (?) because I bought the second dress I tried on. Nevertheless, it can be an overwhelming process, enough so to make you forget about accessories. No wedding look is complete without the accessories! Michael Kors said, “I have always thought of accessories as an exclamation point of an outfit.” Every bride wants exclamation points, right? I got the prettiest shoes and jewelry from BHLDN to add the exclamation point to my wedding dress and I couldn’t be happier. They are right in line with my Scandinavian Garden theme. I have a few tips when it comes to choosing your accessories
Take a closer look at our exclamation point bridal accessories
1.Be practical when it comes to shoes
You’re going to be on your feet ALL day. If you are wearing heels, I would suggest having a pair of pretty flats to switch into if you’re feet start to hurt. My reception is going to be outdoors, in a big backyard with a beautiful barn. I knew that I would be walking on grass a lot so I opted for flats when it came to shoes. These lace peep-toe flats are ideal for a backyard spring wedding. This specific style has all sold out, but BHLDN has the loveliest variety of flats for all sorts of occasions.
2. Make sure you still look like YOU
When it comes to jewelry, I have always gravitated toward simpler styles, and particularly pearls. I wear pearl stud earrings on the daily. If it ain’t broke, right? But for my wedding, I felt like I needed to elevate my typical look with something a bit fancier. I found the most beautiful vintage inspired pearl earrings that still felt like me, just more special.
My wedding dress is all lace, so I didn’t want anything to compete but compliment the dress. This simple pearl and crystal pendant adds just the right amount of sparkle.
3. Experiment with options
I’ve been trying to decide what I want to do with my hair for the big day. A veil? A flower crown? A headpiece? How does one ever decide! I love this delicate floral halo though because it’s not too overwhelming and adds a touch of whimsy to the look. A wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of my life (up until this point) and I want my appearance to reflect that.
Thank you BHLDN for the gorgeous accessories!
