Love to paper craft? Ever heard of a Silhouette machine? Here are some new Silhouette tools to take your crafting to the next level!
I just got back from a gloriously relaxing trip to Hawaii and it was everything I hoped it would be–relaxing, healing, calming, FUN! I was invited to go by Silhoutte, who introduced their brand new products at their annual Summit on Waikiki. Do you know Silhoutte? They’re not all beach and swimsuits–ha! They make excellent craft cutting machines and tools and they just launched some really cool tools that I’m excited about that my fellow crafters and DIYers will appreciate. They are constantly raising the bar and I think this year is a great line-up. I’m thinking of some fun homemade Christmas gifts that I want to make with them. Let me share the 7 new Silhouette tools I’m loving!
CAMEO PRO MK-II
First, their new CAMEO PRO MK-II, which is their higher end model craft cutter. If you have a paper cutting business or like to cut your own things for your business or hobby or just want to invest in something sturdy and reliable, this is a great option. At the time of this post, the products are not live. Once they are I’ll link to them.
Here are some improvements from the previous model:
- They’ve improved machine stability and has the highest cutting force.
- It can adjust the sensitivity of the scanning sensor so you can properly scan registration marks.
- It’s the fastest machine they have
- You can repeat the same job with a single button
- It can cut up to 24″ wide
- It comes with a stand that you can add so that you can wheel it around
- It’s compatible with most of the new tools
Silhouette cloChé
Silhouette announced their first ever heat press machine at this conference. They did so with a video that showed it only I didn’t realize it was a machine because it looked so much like the look they were going for–a suitcase. Do you see it? Pretty cute! They’re calling it the Silhouette cloChé and it’s the world’s cutest heat press. You can apply pressure and transfer heat transfer matreials to like a t-shirt. They come in three colors–Milky White, Chiffon Pink, and Ice Green, but they showed a whole runway of other color combos that you can choose if you are a large distributor (in the cutest color combos!) and now I want all my craft tools and supplies to come in color blocked options.
Here are some highlights:
- It’s super lightweight
- It can sit or stand up for easy storage
- It comes with a mini version, which I’ll talk about in a sec
- Comes with a silicone mat and designs
Silhouette cloChé Petite
This cloChé Petite I’m super excited about because it’s basically a pen that acts as a tiny tiny heat press so if you have a repair to make or just something small, you’re set. I have a project in mind already that I’m excited to try out (and of course I’ll share it with you when I’m done!). It attaches to the bottom of the heat press so if you’re someone like me who loses everything if it doesn’t have a designated spot, then you’re set.
Heat Pens in Super-Fine, Fine, and Wide
The Heat Pen Super-Fine can be used to apply heat foil stamping to cardstock and more. It also comes in Fine and Wide so you have lots of options with thicknesses. The Super-Fine is .25mm, the Fine is 1.0mm and the Wide is 2.5mm. I have a number of things I want to make with these!
Power Engraver
Along those same lines is the Power Engraver, which comes in Super-Fine at 1.0mm and the standard at 2.5mm. These are used to engrave the surface of the material–acrylic, metal plates and more. Again, I’m thinking of Christmas presents and little items around the house. Even personalized jewelry. Can you imagine? Loving all these fun gadgets!
Leather Carving Knife
The Leather Carving Knife is used to create 3D carvings on leather surfaces. I’m imagining catch alls, straps, jewelry, key chains. Are you envisioning it all? So many things to make!
Pen Holders and Adapters
Lastly, these pen holders! You can put in a pen and it can write whatever you want. AND they have an adapter where you can put in ANY pen and have it go to town (think Sharpies).
I’m honestly pretty excited to try all these fun new Silhouette tools to try out and give you a report back on them all. Don’t they spark some fun ideas? Let me know if you have any questions about them!
