We just released a collection of Thanksgiving paper goods to make a whimsical Thanksgiving table with our favorite party people, Bonjour Fete, and I have to say…it’s a new favorite! This collection has been in the works for quite some time so I’m glad to finally share it with you!
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that, in a perfect world, I get to use my best china, but in reality, that sounds like a disaster at this stage in my life. With kids, there’s no way my good dinnerware is making out there alive, so paper it is! And why not make that paper look GOOD! Enter, Bonjour Fete. They have really nailed it with the classy paper dinnerware including gold leaf details and sturdy construction.
The Thanksgiving Collection
Let’s start with the scalloped patterned plate to set the tone with turkeys, pumpkins, the classics. Complete it with a matching pumpkin napkin, patterned cup with a Grateful cozy for hot drinks, and an autumnal plaid napkin and you’re set! I created my own tablescape to give you some ideas on what you can do!
Here’s what I used to style our Thanksgiving table
Bonjour Fete has additional items that complement the collection like these solid midnight blue plates with a gold leaf rim. I didn’t use them in this shoot, but their white wavy compostable plates are delightful AND so sturdy! I almost snuck in these pumpkin colored plates because the orange is so perfect.
I also added in some burnt orange candles and blush pink candlesticks as well as orange dahlias that I found at my pal’s, Trader Joe’s.
Whimsical stem pumpkin centerpieces
Now, the extra fun parts! For the centerpiece, I tapped into the illustrations for the inspiration. I loved the napkin which features my favorite pumpkin shape, the fairytale pumpkin. I love the stems so much on the illustrations os much and I wanted to recreate it in real life.
So I bought pumpkins that had longer stems, or as long as I could find (the ones I was finding weren’t too long), painted them, and added on some paper elements to make them look like the illustration. I’ll be sharing a tutorial soon if you’re interested.
Thanksgiving paper cut out garlands
Onto the garlands. It’s my belief that every holiday should feel like a celebration and garlands bring the party spirit like few other things. Once again, I tapped into the illustrations of the collection and used them to create the streamers hung from the ceiling. I cut them out on my Silhouette machine and stitched them together. There’s a pear, pumpkin, turkey, thistle, flower. I kept mine the same per strand, but if you wanted to save on time and paper, you could create one streamer that features one of each on the same strand. Again, I’ll be doing a tutorial on this another day and will update this post when I do.
Cut out Turkey Name Cards
Lastly, once again, using the pattern as inspiration, I used one of the adorable turkeys to create a name card that you can cut from your craft cutting machine. Personally, I think these seal the deal. I love them so much.
I hope you love it! And if you plan on making anything, tag us with #LarsGivesThanks so we can all see!
