Jasper started kindergarten a couple of weeks ago–I can’t believe it. To be honest, it doesn’t change up our schedule too much because it’s the same as preschool, it’s more of the recognition that time is a thief and he’s moving so fast! In honor of this crazy time, we worked with HP on a couple of back to school printables over on Instagram but thought I’d share them here so you can easily find all the links. The first one is a printable road map with cars and the other is a forecast questionnaire sheet where the kids can write down how they expect the year to go. We made some cute videos to go each one too. I think I’ll make one every year to see him grow!
Printable road map and printable cars
I wanted an interactive toy made from paper for this first one. Jasper LOVES lining up cars on his other play map and this one is great because it also acts as a puzzle. He loved printing it out and assembling it together. He also put his cutting skills to work by cutting out the cars. As you know, I love paper because it feels accessible and tangible–like you’re actually making something. He also has an obscene amount of Hot Wheels that he can add onto the map to create his own scene. I wanted something that felt like you were in the English countryside since the rest of his playmats are so…hardcore? Ha!
If your child loves cars and enjoys imaginative play, this printable road map and car cutout set will be an absolute hit. It’s not just a fun activity but also an excellent way to encourage creativity, fine motor skills, and even basic math concepts.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that HP has a huge library of printables so if you like this, there’s a ton more.
