I’m so tickled to introduce you to our new line of clothing with a dream collaborator, Nikki Chasin. Nikki is a designer in New York with “artful clothing for playful people”. Early readers will remember our own tagline, “artful living”. I’m sure you can guess why we matched up so well! Her clothes are bright, well-made, comfortable, ethically made, and not ordinary!

I first heard of Nikki’s work when a friend sent me a link for this dress. It was love at first sight and I bought it immediately! I’ve worn it countless times over the few years I’ve had it and it’s become a second skin to me along with a number of other pieces I’ve acquired. That’s exactly what I’m hoping this collection is for you as well–pieces that you can’t live without and keep for life! They are great for pattern mixing, layering, all seasons!
You might have noticed that the line is made up of our fabric collection with Fableism that came out in October. The woven fabrics are made in India and then were created into the gorgeous silhouettes you see here. While I know many of our makers can buy the fabric and make the shapes themselves, many of you are not and we wanted to find a way to wear our designs without learning how to sew. Check!

Once again, this is truly a dream team scenario–we’ve been very lucky over the years in that regard. Jenny from our team totally led the way in making this collection happen from the beginning to the end. Garet, our designer, created the gorgeous patterns, figuring out how to make wovens come to life. Jane photographed them so beautifully in my home a couple of weeks ago and I love how they turned out (new profile picture included! ha!). I’m very lucky to have a passionate and ambitious team who has moved so much forward over the last couple of years. I love them so much.

The collection includes a number of dress silhouettes (duh!) in a few different patterns, shorts/top sets, skirt/top sets. They can all be mixed and matched too. Stay tuned on Instagram for some ways that I’ll be styling the pieces. They’re seriously such a great foundation if you’re hoping to wear more color and dresses. And I’ll be showing you how to do it!
The price point is a bit higher than any of our other collections and it’s because of the nature of making them in an ethical way. That said, they are meant to last. I bet you’ll have them forever!

Pre-orders are now live on the Nikki Chasin site. Please let me know what you think!
