Tea Stained Flower Garland

Tea stained Flower Garland

Did you ever have to distress or age an assignment in elementary school or junior high? Like burning the edges or tea staining the paper of a letter to make it look old? I remember my mom helping be brew a pot of tea for a history assignment and being fascinated by the effect. Well, we’re paying homage to those grade school assignments with this tea stained flower garland! We cut out loads of paper daisies with our die-cut machine and then painted them with tea bags to give the flowers some warmth. The result was better than we imagined, with various shades of honey-colored daisies! The best part about it? You only need regular old printer paper, a few bags of tea, and some twine. Things we all have in our cupboards. And things that are CHEAP. Beautiful in an all white setting with some neutral accents, this tea stained flower garland would be perfect for a wedding. No upcoming nuptials? Imagine a canopy of these flowers draped over a bed. Can you say dreamy?

Scandinavian Garden Wedding

Wedding Day Recap Becca here with a post-wedding recap! It’s been over a month since we got married and we just got all our pictures back from the big day! Scrolling through pictures, I was able to relive every moment and found myself smiling the whole time. Thinking back on our wedding day, it was everything I had imagined. And seeing my vision come to life made me absolutely giddy! I am a firm believer in utilizing your resources when it comes to wedding planning, and I could never have done it without so many talented and gracious people.

Creating an inspiration board early on in the wedding planning process was essential for me! Not only did it help me identify and narrow my focus for what I wanted, it was also extremely helpful to use as a reference for those contributing. Everyone understood the look I was going for and so many people pitched in to make it happen! Never underestimate the power of help.

Here’s a peek inside the reception!

How to Make your own Bridal Bouquet

How to make your own bridal bouquet

Oh, how I love flowers! They’re just the icing on the cake when it comes to every special occasion, most specifically a wedding. They manage to bring everything together: the colors, the theme, the feel. After I picked the theme for my wedding, Scandinavian Garden, I knew that the flowers were going to be a huge factor in creating the look I wanted. Can’t have a garden without flowers! I wanted a bouquet that would look almost as if it had been plucked fresh out of the ground: very whimsical, asymmetrical, and full of wild flowers.

Luckily, I found a florist, Erin Keller of Urban Chateau Floral, that I was able to work with on a more personal level to create my dream bouquet. After working with her side by side, I’d recommend this to every bride! Erin shared some floral design tips with me, asked me my opinion as we went, and made sure the bouquet was perfect in every way. I thought I would pass along those tips to how to create your own bridal bouquet! You’ll have some basic guidelines for creating gorgeous floral arrangements, whether you’re getting married or not. Flowers are always in season!
