It took us a few tries to figure out the best method for making our balloon wall and ultimately we found that the best method was the following.
Materials:
- balloons
- twine or string
- stakes
Step 1: Figure out the area you want to create a wall around. We chose to build one around a picnic blanket (Really, a painter’s drop cloth).
Step 2: We bought some stakes from the hardware store and mounted them at each of the four corners of the blanket.
Step 3: With twine, wrap around each stake until they are all connected. You’ll want to push the twine to the ground, so no one trips over it.
Step 4: Once you’ve filled up your balloons, group them in bunches and tie them to the twine. We started by evenly spreading them around and then filling them in. Tying them in bunches is crucial so they don’t get tangled–we found that out the hard way.
Voila! If you make your own ballon walls, or any other project inspired by Lars, please share them by taking a picture and tagging it with #MakingWithLars.
Do u use ordinary baloons or the helium kind
no helium. use an air pump!
How did they stay in the air forward to the sky without helium?
These have helium in them 🙂
