Paper Lipstick Valentines

Paper Lipstick ValentinesEveryone knows I’m a huge proponent of a red lip. Maybe you’re having a bad hair day, maybe you’ve worn the same outfit three days in a row, but throw on a red lip, and NO one knows! Instant glamour. I highly recommend everyone investing in a signature red lipstick. Confession: I still have the red lipstick I wore for my engagement photos…8 years ago. Yikes! Now is the perfect time to invest because nothing says Valentines Day like a showstopper red lip! So in honor of our deep adoration of a bold lip we’ve created Paper Lipstick Valentines! These luxurious tubes are filled with sweet candies and made from a toilet paper roll! Talk about trash to treasure, right? So even if you’re not quite ready to flaunt the red lip, these Lipstick Valentines are the perfect shade for everyone!

To make the sweet little tags, we used the stunning new font by Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls. I’ve been wanting to work with her for a number of years now, and was thrilled when I set my eyes on this font! It’s called Specimen I and is a charming script lettered in her signature hand. So fun! If you want to purchase the font, you can find it HERE. We printed off puns like “You’re the balm!” and “Pucker up, Valentine!” on white printer paper and cut them out in the shape of banners. We love the romantic feel the font has without being too showy.

Instructions:

  1. Using the templates, cut out each piece of the lipstick with the appropriate paper (listed above).
  2. For the base, the middle tube, and the lipstick overlap the edges 1/4-inch (noted by small slits in the template) and glue.
  3. Glue the lipstick tube to the middle of the circular base, then place the metallic middle tube over the lipstick and glue that to the base. Finish with the textured tube and glue to the base. This should fit perfectly with the circle.
  4. Now fill the red/pink lipstick tube with small red candies.
  5. To finish, glue the top part of the lipstick tube onto the tube by folding in the tab and gluing around the opening.

Where are the instructions with the templates? Which lipstick tube piece is for the metallic paper / toilet paper roll? How do I attach all the pieces?

I wish there were better directions. It’s not easy to roll the cardstock without creasing. Also – that font is $$$$$$
I love it but my pocketbook doesn’t.

  3. Hi there. I bought your valentine ebook and I’m excited to make the lipstick tubes! Only I can’t figure out what the toilet paper tube is for… Can you help me out? Thanks!
