DIY Holiday Friendship Bracelets

Are you a last-minute Christmas shopper? I know some people make it a point to have their gifts purchased by December 1st, but I’ve never been that type of person. BUT, if it comes to making gifts, count me in! And this is one that would be an awesome TV project/curled up cozied up by the fire.

You'll Need:

  • DMC Embroidery Floss (Forest) in 319
  • DMC Embroidery Floss (Chartreuse) in 166
  • DMC Embroidery Floss (Cream) in 746
  • DMC Embroidery Floss (Pink) in 956
  • DMC Embroidery Floss (Red/orange) in 606
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Clipboard

If you need a last-minute gift idea for your best pal, mom, or sister, this post is for you. Today we’re sharing how to make Christmas Friendship Bracelets. You might recognize this tutorial because we’ve done a couple like it in the past (including cute printables!).

We’re including five different patterns you can make with your family, all Christmas/holiday-themed that would be great to give out to friends or neighbors. We chose some that are a bit more complicated (and awesome!) and some that are a bit more simple (and still awesome!). They come complete with videos since they’re a little bit easier to understand than photos.

This one is a riff our intern, Calee, made off of a traditional chevron pattern. It relies on the same format but with a little spin in the middle as you can see with the green.

3. How to make a holiday candy striped friendship bracelet

You can really make any sort of striped pattern you’d like, but here’s how to make this specific pattern.

4. How to read a normal friendship bracelet pattern

Reading patterns to me is like reading greek. Where do I start? What am I looking at? Some of the patterns we referred to for the more complicated designs like the candy cane, trees, and poinsettias, were from other sites and I needed a bit of deciphering before I could really dig in. To help me out, our intern, Calee, made this video explaining how to read a pattern. I hope it helps you too!

5. DIY Candy Cane Friendship bracelet

We used this pattern for our Candy Cane Friendship bracelet. If you need help deciphering  a pattern, use the video above!

6. DIY Christmas Tree Friendship bracelet

We used this pattern for our Christmas Tree Friendship Bracelet. If you can’t figure out how to decipher a pattern, use the video above!

7. DIY Poinsettia Friendship bracelet
