Hello, hello! Well, we just celebrated the 4th of July, which is one of the biggest holidays in the U.S. But did you know that Bastille Day is almost upon us, too? I have to admit, I love celebrating Bastille Day in all its Parisian glory. That’s why today’s post is a Bastille Day roundup of festivities from years past. History of Bastille Day
But do you know what Bastille Day is, or its significance? Well, long story short, it’s France’s national holiday, marked by the storming of the Bastille prison. It was a pivotal day in the French Revolution, one that changed the course of the French revolution and eventually transformed the republic. Since 1880, the French have been celebrating July 14th as their national holiday. And it is well worth celebrating! See this article for a full history of Bastille Day.
