And we’re live! Our second collection with Lime Ricki is available now in their shop and I have to say, though I feel like I say this every time, it’s our best collection of anything ever! It’s called the Brasil collection, inspired by my time living there in my early twenties. Their landscapes are so distinctive, the foliage lush, and the beaches unparalleled. It’s a magical place with a fascinating history that all played into the collection.
Brasil Collection by Lime Ricki
Our last collection was inspired by Scandinavia, where I lived when Paul and I got married, and this time I wanted something more tropical and beachy but in our Lars style. I looked back to this special time of life where I lived for almost two years. The beach and being outside is a big part of the culture and I wanted to tap into that. I lived in a big city called Curitiba, but I spent some time in Rio de Janeiro where I collection takes place. The famous beaches of Ipanema and Copabana with those iconic black and white cobblestone calçadas in the most exquisite designs. I’m going to be talking more about the design inspiration in an upcoming post so stay tuned!
Lime Ricki Try-on
Nothing musters more courage than the exhilaration that comes from seeing something you’ve been working on for so long see the light of day so I guess it’s better that I do this try-on while I’m still riding on adrenaline than later in the summer when the sweat is beading down my back.
I wish you all could do a full try on of all the suits—it’s really kind of mind-blowing. You see things differently when you try something you wouldn’t normally go for so I made a video of some of the suits I was deciding between.
Passion Fruit
We have a few patterns on a variety of silhouettes that are perfect for mixing and matching. The first is the passion fruit, which comes in a pink/orange one-piece rash guard
And a green/blue knotted crop top and skirt.
And the passion fruit high neck color block one piece which is STUNNING! All those amazing colors in one piece. Plus, you have to see the back! It’s so good.
Calçada
The next pattern is the calçada, which is based on those amazing cobblestone boardwalk sidewalks you can find all over Brazil. They were everywhere where I lived in Curitiba but are probably best known at the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. You can tell where each one based on the patterns. There’s a famous wavy pattern that we adapted for our sarong, which will be coming out soon. And we adapted a floral motif into our calcada pattern, which is found in a number of silhouettes–a patch work on the peplum, the classic one piece, square neck top, and a few different bottoms. We also put it in the classic black and white colors like the sidewalks. Everyone always loves a good black and white!
Umbrella stripes
Lastly, we needed to capture the colorful umbrella stripes found dotting the sand so we came up with a color block stripe in this bralette and boy short which I think is so so cute and could be used for so many other uses.
An honest review from our team
We have so many different shapes and sizes on our team so we thought we’d share the selections we made and why. Leave a comment if you have any specific questions. Honestly, if you can, I’d try on as many silhouettes as you can to see what works best and then send back the rest. You never know which one will suit you best! Plus, Lime Ricki has a Fit Finder so you can find what works best for you.
Brittany
“For our last collection I went with the peplum and boy short and the dress. I love how comfortable I felt in each. I didn’t have to worry about covering myself up or falling out. I ended up trying on all of the styles mid-summer and found that there was something about actually trying them on that helped me decide better. I LOVED how the one piece fit. This time I’m going with the calcada one piece, the peplum/boy short combo again, and the calcada black rash guard. I love being covered up from the sun. Each piece has a lot of coverage and the material is great quality. Call me a forever Lime Ricki fan and not just because we love collaborating with them!”

“I am an active beach and pool goer. I’m jumping in the water, surfing, running on the beach, so I love swimsuits that can handle that level of movement while still looking CUTE! The Lime Ricki swimsuits from The Brasil Collection are adorable and functional. The umbrella stripes are EVERYTHING and the Calcada flowers with contrasting trim are so darling. My favorite cut for the top is the bralette – I like something simple, easy to throw on, and love not having any loose fabric anywhere so if I pop it on under a wetsuit it’s no fuss. The retro boy shorts are also a favorite of mine. I love how the fit looks girly and lengthening on the legs, while also having good coverage for when I’m running around and don’t want to have to worry about being too cheeky. Can’t say enough good things!!!”

“Designing the passionfruit and calcada prints were so fun. It was really hard to choose a favorite, so I ordered a suit in both prints! For the passionfruit print, I chose the high neck one piece. I have been on the hunt for a great one piece with some better coverage for playing at the beach. I am smitten with the new design for this suit! The strappy back with the bow is so cute. To see this silhouette colorblocked in the passionfruit print is even better! I can’t wait to wear this. For the calcada print, there were so many options to choose from. I ended up choosing the calcada boy shorts. They are such a great length and I love the high waist. I’m already picturing them as a summer staple. Pair them with a great pair of sandals and a white tee shirt? Done. Wear them for some dopamine dressing while working out at the gym? Yes please.”

“I love the color block and the floral makes it pop! The visual journey it takes you on and to the destination of feeling confident in the swimsuit. I love to pair different patterns together and these were the perfect suits! I went with the Calcada one piece because all those colors together PLUS the brass buttons are beyond. I also got the peplum and boy short because I love how it fits my body.”
