I truly live for summer parties. Really just summer in general, but my fondest memories are always of summer. You can ask anyone and they’ll tell you I’m a sunbaby, always gravitating towards warmth. I don’t know about you, but I wait all year for this and now that it’s finally here there’s no holding back! Today I’m bringing the heat to you with these summer party ideas!
All You Need for A Midsummer Party
Midsummer is a magical way to throw a party that celebrates all things summer! Lars has All You Need for A Midsummer Party, with traditional festivities that originate in Scandinavia and the stories behind them. If you’re looking for a whimsical garden party-esque vibe, then you can count on Midsummer being the heart of your party!
Summer Strawberry Party
I literally don’t know what could be more summery than a Summer Strawberry Party. Is your mouth watering just thinking about it? That makes two of us! The strawberry planning here is absolutely down to the last detail, so if you’ve never been in love with strawberries before – now’s the time!
No pool? No problem!
Did we have a pool growing up? No. Did we incessantly beg our parents for one? Yes. Throw a pool party without a pool? Say what! It is in fact, very possible and as you will see: No pool? No problem! Very clever and very cute, this would be a hit summer party. Gather all your swim necessities and meet up for the best pool(less) party you’ve ever been to!
Olympic Paper Chain Party
It’s 2024 which means we are in a summer olympic year! This year they will take place in Paris, France. You can get into the Olympic spirit by hosting your very own Olympic Paper Chain Party! Mostly you’ll need – you guessed it, paper! And some other festive items that are optional. The Olympics was one thing we were allowed to stay up past bedtime and watch as kids, but summer is a great time to watch the Olympics while you party and cheer on your favorite teams and athletes!
Licorice all sorts party
Wanting to throw a candy party? It’s not exactly Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, but boy is it cute and sweet – a Licorice all sorts party! You might get a chuckle out of this one if you have strong opinions about licorice, but all the more a conversation starter. My favorite licorice is Australian strawberry licorice, what’s yours?
Barbiecore Ideas
I’m sorry I had to. Barbiecore just took the world by storm and I don’t think we shall soon forget. I don’t know any better time to throw a Barbiecore party than in the summer, with all the neon and pink going on. Take a look at Barbiecore Costume Ideas for inspo on a Barbie party; I know I can always be inspired by clothes when attending a themed party. Come on Barbie, let’s go party!
Chanel Inspired Tablescape
Speaking of clothes…did you see the Met Gala this year? A Garden of Time theme?! Are you kidding me! I probably will never walk the red carpet, but that doesn’t mean I can’t throw my own fashion inspired party. This Chanel Inspired Tablescape is based off of the 2015 Chanel Couture Spring Runway show, and is totally high fashion ready. Have fun with it and feel free to play with your own fashion themes!
Backyard boho party
This might sound weird but I feel instantly at home when there’s some floor cushions and open seating on the ground. Go ahead, call me a hippie, but there is something that is so grounding and relaxed about not having to sit so formally in a chair all the time! This Backyard boho party will help you figure out how you can open up your space in the warm summer air for an evening or afternoon of comfort and calm.
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta
I know it’s not May anymore but hear me out; this is the closest I could get to saying you should throw a taco party without saying you should throw a taco party. Just to give you some context, every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday in my brain, ok. So if summer is still going on and you need some Latin American festividades in your corner, you have a late Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and thank me later!
Paris-Inspired Design: A Bastille Day Bash
Last year I started a course in calligraphy and learned a new word from a calligrapher who I admired. She described herself as a francophile, which means, a person who is fond of or greatly admires France or the French. This leads me to Paris-Inspired Design: A Bastille Day Bash, which is more or less an Independence Day celebration to France. So for any francophiles or parisian lovers out there, this one’s for you!
