We recently made these paper daisies for another fun project (stay tuned!) but couldn’t help but think that they would make a GREAT backdrop for a summer fest! What do you think? And bonus! These are one of the easier paper flowers to make. AND they require very little in supplies so it’s rather cheap too! We spent under $10! We think it’s a goodie too. Full tutorial below!
Materials:
- white butcher paper (we get ours from the local party supply by the foot. We got 30 feet for 30 flowers)
- yellow cardstock
- glue gun
- scotch tape
- glue stick
- template
To make the paper daisy flower:
- Cut out the petal template on white paper. Place the petal on the fold to get the perfect crease. Cut out 10 per flower.
- Cut out a yellow circle, 4″ in diameter per flower. We cut a 2″ circle for the back too to hold it in place.
- Place the first petal in the center of the smaller yellow circle with fold opening to the ground and glue.
- Assemble all the petals around the circle and glue in place.
- Flip flower over and glue large 4″ yellow circle in the middle
- To make the flower less floppy, glue the touching edges of the flower petals together
To make the backdrop:
- Scotch tape the flowers to your wall. The flowers are light enough that they stay fine with scotch tape.
That’s it! This is one of our easiest yet most impactful backdrops!
If you make one, please add it to the hash tag #LarsMakes or #LarsParties. We’d love to see what you’re creating!
