Are all your friends having babies? And/or wanting to have babies? And/or can’t have babies and want to so desperately?! I’m now at the age where I’ve seen a lot of my friends struggle with infertility or suffer miscarriages or stillbirths. It’s so heartbreaking. Because of Facebook and social media, I’ve seen a lot of friends rally their support troops in sending “baby vibes” in whatever shape that may be and when my friend Kelly of Studio DIY asked us to send over some baby vibes, I thought I’d send her some literal baby vibes. This was so fun to make and I hope they do the trick 😉 Just stick in some confetti and candy, and you’ve got a fun care package sure to lift some spirits.
See the full tutorial below!
Materials: scrapbook paper in 7 colors, scissors, cutting machine (or stencil letters), mailing tube (I’d recommend one with at least 2″), ruler, confetti, candy, glue stick, tape
Step 1: Make an accordion fold with your paper. Cut your paper to fit the inside of the plastic cover on the mailing tube. Mine turned out to be 1.5″ wide and 2″ tall per fold. “Sending baby vibes” is 17 letters long so make you’re accordion fold that long with two extras to spare. Because your paper isn’t that long, you’ll need to glue three of them together to create the length.
Step 2: Cut out rectangles to the size of each of the accordion folds and glue them on.
Step 3: Cut out letters to the size of the rectangles. I used my Cricut machine to cut out letters and sized them to about 1″ tall.
Step 4: Glue the letters to the accordion fold.
Step 5: Tape the top of the accordion fold to the bottom of the plastic lid.
Step 6: I cut out various sized strips from the excess of the scrapbook paper and glued them to the mailing tube.
Step 7: Add in candy and confetti into the package (I also added in tissue paper so it wouldn’t slide around).
