Last month I worked with Let’s Playground, a company that makes adorable and clean-up-able play mats, on their latest collaboration with Love Taza, who designed 4 adorable patterns. I art directed and styled the shoot and I must say, it’s one of my favorite projects I’ve ever worked on. It’s helpful when you can get behind a brand, like Love Taza, that you are familiar with and can get behind. It was SO much easier to design for!
When I was preparing for the shoot, I had a dream that letter balloons and 3D NYC skylines were involved somehow so figuring out how to create that was priority number one. I ended up taking some inspiration from Merrilee’s brownstone dollhouses from her book that I styled, Playful. That girl is a wonder with cardboard.
For the gingham scene, I imagined a flying carpet ride over the city of New York, as inspired by the NYC skyline mat. AND the magical part was that after I came up with the concept, I ended up finding this image, which was basically an extraction from my imagination. How perfect, huh?!
Little O was such a trooper, especially being on her own in front of a lot of excited adults cheering her on a little too enthusiastically.
