I had dreamed of living in NYC but it hadn’t happened and so, for my 40th, I booked myself a vacation to NY to “live” there for a week. I found a great little apartment in Park Slope right across from Prospect Park. I went grocery shopping like a local. Took the subway everywhere and went to places I’d never been on previous trips. Even going to the laundromat feel more enjoyable because it was part of the experience. A dear friend came and met me for a couple of the days, too. It was a fabulous way to welcome in my 40s.

I loved all the creative ideas in this post! Turning 40 is such a milestone, and your suggestions inspire me to celebrate it in a memorable way. I especially liked the idea of a themed party—it’s so fun to reflect on the past while looking forward to the future!
