Have you heard the term bloomcore yet? As soon as I heard it I knew I had found a friend. It feels so good! But unlike normcore, balletcore, Barbiecore and all the other cores, I hope this one sticks around forever! In fact, I think I’ve been doing bloomcore my whole life.
Bloomcore is the ongoing phenomenon taking TikTok by storm. It’s the idea that florals are back, dominating home decor and fashion. We’ve spent years aesthetically blending it into the background. Bloomcore suggests you go big and BOLD! You know we’re all about it! The more floral, bigger the better! Whether a dress or a decorative pillow, wallflowers are no more! We want to share with you our take on bloomcore. Hopefully, this inspires you to get the ball rolling!
Bloomcore Dresses
Where would we be in life if we didn’t have floral dresses? Nowhere. I live in floral dresses! They’re easy and perfect for every day (read about why I only wear dresses here) especially now that summer is coming and towing my toddler around. Just slip one on with some cute flats or sandals, and you’re set! They’re also wearable in the winter and fall. Winterize your dresses by adding a cozy sweater with some dark tights or leggings paired with some cute booties. The possibilities are endless!
Bloomcore: Home decor
Not all of us are a fan of wearing dresses, of course. Thankfully, there’s an alternative: home decor! This is the perfect way to display your love of nature’s blooms, without turning yourself into a work of art. Our new collection of fabrics and wallpapers will make sure of that! We have florals galore for every style and purpose. You can see the full collection here.
Floral fabrics and wallpapers
We have plenty of fabrics to choose from. If you’re wanting big and bold flowers, settle for patterns like our Dorothy’s Roses or Gloria’s Summer Zinnias. Perhaps you’re wanting something more subtle, we suggest Nora’s Mini Zinnies Cream. Maybe soft florals aren’t your thing we have a bold florals collection, which is the bees knees. All of these patterns are beautiful! They also make amazing wallpaper. You can add some floral flair regardless!
Floral DIY projects
We are known for our unique DIY projects–flowers included. If you’re feeling crafty, you might want to give these a try! These are another great way to immerse yourself in the bloomcore trend.
When I got married, I made my wedding bouquet out of paper. Traditional flowers are beautiful. But they are SO expensive! It’s pointless trying to buy flowers that only last for a few days. With paper flowers, you get the best of both worlds! You get a centerpiece you can keep for years afterward. And, you can choose any type and color you desire without worrying about the price. Check out our tutorial for paper flowers here
Flower crafts
Flower crowns are a great way to highlight your favorite flowers. The best part is, all it takes one trip to the craft store! Cotton balls, a pair of pliers, craft paint, stem wire, floral wire. You don’t have to spend good money to get a quality product. You can spend less and make one yourself!
Drawing flowers
If you like art, this one is for you! Learn to Draw: Flowers. This is great one for the whole family. You learn how to draw beautiful flowers. But also, a work of art! We offer printable posters that will look great in any space: office, bedroom, living room…anywhere!
Press flowers
Part of bloomcore is bringing the floral lifestyle and a great way to do this is by bringing flowers inside by pressing flowers. This is a great way to preserve the flowers you love. There are three ways to do it: with a book, an iron or a microwave. Yes, a microwave! Who knew an electrical appliance could be used for more than reheating a lasagna?! Playing with fire (or our case, electricity) in order to maximize your crafting repertoire. With crafting, it’s all about experimentation. Pressed flowers is the way to start!
Flower Pounding
Flower pounding has become super popular within the last few years. We tried it out here. And then I loved the idea of adding on embroidery onto it too.
If it was up to me, the bloomcore trend would not be a trend but a lifestyle. Maybe it is for you? It takes the beauty of nature, style and crafting and allows you to make it all your own! These projects and crafts are the perfect way to add some bloom to your everyday life! Give it a try! And let me know how it goes!
