There are some collaborations that feel like an especially perfect meeting of worlds, and our new collection with Boon Ties is one of them. We are so excited to introduce Wonder and Whimsy, a joyful collection of ties, hair ties, bows, and bags made from two of our favorite woven patterns from the Lars x Fableism fabric collection.
It is bright. It is playful. It is made for matching, mixing, gifting, and adding a little bit of delight to the everyday. In other words, it’s perfect!
The story behind Wonder and Whimsy
When we created our fabric collection with Fableism, we dreamed of seeing the patterns live far beyond the fabric bolt. We imagined them being sewn into clothes, like our Nikki Chasin collection, carried through everyday life, passed down, and turned into pieces that feel both useful and special and that is exactly what Boon Ties has done.
The Wonder and Whimsy collection features our blue floral woven fabric and Midsommar plaid—two patterns that have always felt especially happy together. The blue floral is sweet without being too precious, while Midsommar plaid brings a bold, cheerful mix of color. Side by side, they feel a little nostalgic, a little unexpected, and very Lars.
Boon Ties transformed the fabrics into a collection for the whole family, with ties, hair accessories, bows, and bags that make it easy to bring more pattern and personality into getting dressed. This is the first time I’ve ever collaborated on a collection specifically to match with my boys and you know that I was in HEAVEN thinking of all our Mother Boy moments.
Made for a little everyday magic
We called the collection Wonder and Whimsy because those are two things we never want to grow out of.
Wonder is the instinct to notice—to look closely at a flower, celebrate a beautiful color combination, or find something extraordinary tucked inside an ordinary day. Whimsy is what happens when we let ourselves play: wearing the bow, choosing the bright plaid, matching with someone we love, and taking getting dressed a little less seriously.
These pieces are small, but they carry that spirit beautifully.
The ties add color and character to Sunday clothes, weddings, family photos, parties, and all the occasions when a little extra charm is called for. The hair ties and bows bring the patterns into everyday outfits. And the bags are practical pieces made infinitely more delightful by a very good floral or plaid.
Mix, match, and make it your own
One of our favorite things about this collection is that it wasn’t designed to be worn in only one way. Match a tie to a bow for siblings. Pair the blue floral with Midsommar plaid instead of choosing just one. Add a hair tie to a simple dress, carry a colorful bag with an already-patterned outfit, or give a piece to someone who could use a little brightness. And put them all in the quilted bag. I’ve been using the bag every single day since I got it–it’s perfect!
We have never believed that color needs to be saved for special occasions, and Wonder and Whimsy is an invitation to wear more of it—freely, joyfully, and in whatever combination makes you happiest.
