I never want summer to end, but for all you planners out there, I have to address the obvious–fall. Gulp. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited and start planning for the future! It’s never too early to start planning your fall decor! Here are a few suggestions to help prep your home for the colder months and get your crafty inhibitions out!
1. Paper Fall Leaf Garland
You know how much I love a good garland. This rainbow-inspired leaf garland will welcome the beautiful colors of autumn into your home! Place in on a mantle or over a door to bring in the warmth of the season.
2. Rustic Pinecone Garland
Bring a touch of the outdoors indoors with a rustic pinecone garland. Collect pinecones from your backyard or local park, then give them a light dusting and a bit of a shine. String them together using a sturdy twine or jute rope, leaving a small gap between each pinecone. You can intersperse them with small faux leaves, acorns, or even tiny pumpkins for an added fall flair.
3. Fall Leaf Streamer
Here is another fall decoration to try out! Take gold-colored real leaves and layer them to make an autumnal fall leaf streamer. I always love using what we’ve got in the wild.
4. Bountiful Harvest Corn Garland
Celebrate the harvest season with a garland featuring colorful corn cobs. Start by drying corn cobs, either in a well-ventilated area or in the oven at a low temperature. Once dried, paint the kernels in rich fall shades like deep reds, oranges, and yellows. String the corn cobs together using twine or thin wire, and hang them along a wall or above a door for a rustic and cheerful fall display.
5. Paper Magnolia Garland
Greenery isn’t meant for just the summer. It extends to the autumn, too! This paper magnolia garland is perfect for your banister, mantle, or doorway. Can you guess what it’s made out of?!
6. Mini Pumpkin Delight
Nothing says autumn like pumpkins. Create a charming garland using miniature pumpkins or faux pumpkins crafted from materials like felt or fabric. Paint the pumpkins in traditional fall colors or experiment with metallic shades for a modern twist. Thread them onto a sturdy string, and voila—a delightful pumpkin garland that can grace your fireplace, entryway, or even your dining table.
7. Paper Leaf Garland
A simple paper green leaf garland. This can be used any time of the year. However, it would be a great choice for the fall to keep the green year round. I love keeping it in a box and bringing it out for celebrations.
8. Cinnamon Stick Warmth
Infuse your space with the cozy aroma of cinnamon by crafting a cinnamon stick garland. Gather cinnamon sticks of similar lengths and tie them together with a decorative ribbon or twine. You can also incorporate dried orange slices, cloves, or star anise for extra warmth and fragrance. Hang this aromatic garland in your kitchen or living room for a sensory autumn experience.
9. Fall Wreath
This isn’t exactly a fall garland. But, it does land under the fall theme and would be a great addition. This is a unique twist on a fall wreath. It takes bright-colored flowers to welcome the cooler weather. A happy addition to your front door!
10. Rainbow Pumpkin arch
Not technically a garland, but serves a similar purpose. Here’s how we turned faux pumpkins into an arch. Here’s how to make it!
