Paper plant centerpieces

  1. Use the leafy templates from here  for the plant part. Blow them up or scale them down for additional sizes.
  2. I varied this template by cutting incisions into the sides of the leaves to add texture. Make incisions about every 1/2″ diagonally into the leaf.
  3. Optional: paint leaf detailing onto the leaves in a contrasting color.
  4. Fill a vessel with rice (or sand). I didn’t want to waste a lot of rice so I filled a small balloon with air and put it in first. Make sure you cover any holes that may be in the vessels with tape)
  5. Start inserting your leaves starting with the center leaves and working out. Make sure they are spaced evenly.
  6. Voila!
