Macy’s Day Parade Tablescape

Macy's Day Parade Tablescape-8What are some of your¬†Thanksgiving traditions? Maybe you go on a Turkey Trot the morning of Halloween. Perhaps you see a movie in the evening? I know a lot of people who watch way too much football ūüėČ One¬†particular tradition beloved at the Lars Studio is watching the Macy’s Day Parade on the morning of Thanksgiving. The floats, the music, the dancing, it’s all so magical! As the cooking and baking preparations are well underway, we watch the parade march past Central Park and there is nothing better! Nostalgia¬†at its finest, that’s what the holidays are all about, right? So we¬†bottled up our love for that tradition and created this Macy’s Day Parade Tablescape for our monthly tablescape series complete with taxi car place cards!¬†Say hello to your new Thanksgiving tradition.

Edited: The Today Show loved it so much they featured it on their Thanksgiving edition!

See how to create the full tablescape after the jump!

Friendsgiving Printables

Friendsgiving PrintablesThanksgiving is in 3 weeks!¬†If you’re on the ball, that means you’re probably already working on a menu and planning for the great feast. For the rest of us, we’re just¬†hoping that¬†we get invited to that house! Thanksgiving is traditionally spent with family and loved ones. People travel far and wide to join together to eat, drink, and be merry. Though perhaps you can’t get work off or don’t have the time or money to travel. Enter: Friendsgiving! Friendsgiving is a¬†version of Thanksgiving but rather than family members, it’s your friends that compile the guest list. I love Friendsgiving¬†because it’s the perfect excuse to reconnect with friends and enjoy a delicious dinner party. Where’s the bad?

Paper Bag Portrait Luminaries

Paper Bag Portrait LuminariesNow that October has finally arrived we are ready to cover our houses with all the ghosts, goblins, and ghouls! Much like around Christmas time, I love walking around the neighborhood to check out all the different decorations that will soon greet the Trick-or-Treaters. So with that¬†in mind, we decided to create some paper bag portrait luminaries to line your walkway to welcome all¬†your spooky guests! You’ve probably seen a rendition of paper bag lanterns, but these ones each don an old black and white portrait to¬†give a spooky touch. Think Disney’s Haunted House. With basic white paper bags, a printer, and some tea lights, you can create these easy lanterns and make sure your guests are properly watched over ūüėČ

Lady Liberty Flower Crowns

Lady Liberty Flower CrownsFourth of July is fast approaching and I’m already thinking about how I’m going to celebrate. Holidays require looking your best, but I’ve never been one to go for the traditional flag t-shirt and denim shorts. This year I looked to Lady Liberty for some patriotic inspiration and came up with some red, white, and blueLady Liberty flower crowns! You can’t look your best without a crown, am I right? Ask any royal out there, and I can assure you they’d agree. With little more than fresh flowers, you can create a headpiece even Lady Liberty¬†would be proud of!

Lady Liberty Flower Crowns

Take a page from Lady Liberty’s book and make red, white, and blue Lady Liberty Flower crowns!
