Today Paul and I celebrate five years of marriage. Prior to getting married I didn’t realize how marriage can be an accomplishment, a life’s work. I thought once you found the right person everything just falls into place and you’re good to go. I’ve since learned that marriage is a living thing, something you nurture together. Something you work for together. Something you build together. Everything together.

I’ve learned more than ever this year that unlike what the Beatles sing, it’s not only about love. Unless by love you also mean kindness, patience, sacrifice, and so many other things. It’s an accomplishment that I’m proud of. Not perfect at. But proud of and learning more and more how to do it better.
