Happy 2022! We hope you had a lovely few weeks of holidays and are ready to start off strong this year. One of my favorite new year’s traditions is setting resolutions. It really motivates me and gets me feeling hopeful about all the possibilities each new year brings. There’s nothing like a fresh, new start to rekindle the desire to accomplish great things.
This year, we’ve compiled a list of some fresh 2022 new year’s resolutions we think are worthy of your consideration. We’re hoping they can be a catalyst for your own 2022 new year’s resolutions, and that they help you on your way to a wonderfully fulfilling, joyful year. Cheers!
Spend Quality Time with Loved Ones
First of our 2022 new year’s resolutions is to spend more quality time with those you love. This always seems to make the list for me–somehow, it’s the one thing I always cherish most but have a hard time succeeding at amidst everyone’s busy day-to-day schedules. So here are some of our favorite ideas of simple, easy, and fun things to do with those you love. There’s something for all ages here, so take a look and see what sparks your interest!
Get Crafting
There’s nothing better than crafting to bring people together! The best part about these crafts is that they can double as a fun get-together later on. While it’s still cold, you can prep for the warmer months with this watermelon blanket. Have a picnic inside while you wait for it to get warm, then move the party outside! If you’re looking for other fun crafts to do with your kids, these crafts are great options that are good for a wide range of ages. Another adorable option is to make this charcuterie board, then have a little get-together with your friends.
For Those Who Aren’t Close By
As many of you probably do, I have plenty of family and friends living in places that aren’t so easy to visit at the drop of a hat. That’s when a handwritten letter or handmade card can be the perfect solution. It’s sincere and from the heart, and can easily be mailed around the globe. Here are some card options we love from the shop! And here are some pens that are also just so fun to write and draw with.
If you’re on the receiving end of the pen pal letters, we’re in love with this cute box to put cards and letters in.
Get Outside
You know those days when it’s about 8pm and you realize you haven’t been outside all day? I’m guiltily raising my hand. Especially with remote work on the rise, it’s so easy to skip even the short walk to the car. The saddest part is I love being outside! Even in winter, there are plenty of fun things to do. Snowshoeing, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, the list goes on. And I don’t even need to list the endless options available to you during Spring, Summer and Fall. Research shows the countless benefits of getting some sun, fresh air and exercise, not just for physical health, but mental and emotional, too. I feel a difference on those days when I make time to be outside and the days when I’m cooped up inside all day, and that’s incentive enough for me to want to make more of an effort. Hence, it’s on our 2022 new year’s resolutions!

Nurture Your Green Thumb
A subcategory of getting outside, one of the best ways to incentivize you to get outside is to learn how to care for plants. Prep for a garden now by getting your starts going so you can move them to an outdoor planter box when it’s time. It’ll help keep you in touch with things that grow while it’s still pretty frozen, too. I guess you could consider it a way to bring the outdoors in to you. The bonus is that gardening cuts down on your visits to the grocery store come Summer and Fall–and the garden produce is a million times more fresh! Sounds like a pretty wonderful way to fulfill this item on your list of 2022 new year’s resolutions.
Here are some good gardening essentials to get you started, indoor and outdoor:
Pamper Yourself
I know it’s sometimes hard to find the time to justify a little self-care. But we all know that when we do take the time, we feel so much better. That’s why we decided it would be the perfect thing to include on our list of 2022 new year’s resolutions! This year, tell yourself you deserve it and pamper yourself a little. Here are some self-care items you might not be able to say no to (hint: say yes)!
Most people I talk to have a goal to read more throughout the year. I know it’s not the first time it’s found itself on my list of new years resolutions. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! Luckily, we’ve got a few lists to point you in the right direction. Here’s a little list of Lars’ favorite fall books, along with this guide to books for your toddler, and these adorable board books. We’ve also complied a list of minority-authored books for those looking to diversify your home library. Consider this new year an opportunity to start a book club with friends and nurture your relationships while you read!
Decorate
Last but not least on our list of 2022 new year’s resolutions is to decorate your home with things you love! We love these Libby VanderPloeg Women Working prints. Consider the new year an opportunity to do a little home TLC! Treat yourself to some fresh-off-the-press, colorful prints to help your home feel a bit more cozy and bright. Think of it as the perfect way to get through the rest of these cold, dark months.
