Paper Magnolia Leaf Garland

DIY paper magnolia garlandThere’s nothing quite like a fresh garland of greenery… until you make a paper version and it lasts for years! We fell in love with Magnolia leaves after working on a paper magnolia flower months ago. We love the big leaves with their two-tone coloring of brown and green. The fresh magnolia leaf garlands you can buy are always so lush and we wanted to create the same effect with a paper version. The key to this garland is lots of leaves which you can bend to create a really full look. Brown kraft paper, paint, and wire are the only supplies you’ll need, making this a piece of cake to put together! We hung ours over a door frame, but it would look super lovely along a mantle or down a staircase. And guess what? It’s under $10!

Tea Stained Flower Garland

Tea stained Flower Garland

Did you ever have to distress or age an assignment in elementary school or junior high? Like burning the edges or tea staining the paper of a letter to make it look old? I remember my mom helping be brew a pot of tea for a history assignment and being fascinated by the effect. Well, we’re paying homage to those grade school assignments with this tea stained flower garland! We cut out loads of paper daisies with our die-cut machine and then painted them with tea bags to give the flowers some warmth. The result was better than we imagined, with various shades of honey-colored daisies! The best part about it? You only need regular old printer paper, a few bags of tea, and some twine. Things we all have in our cupboards. And things that are CHEAP. Beautiful in an all white setting with some neutral accents, this tea stained flower garland would be perfect for a wedding. No upcoming nuptials? Imagine a canopy of these flowers draped over a bed. Can you say dreamy?

DIY Summer Flower Garland

DIY summer flower garland

Guys, this week is full of exciting announcements! We’re kicking off with this garland inspired by our products designed for Alexis Mattox Design. The grand reveal of all our party products for AMD will be on Wednesday, so stay tuned! The florals we used were so fun and poppy that we needed to make a garland inspired by the wrapping. This is the perfect decoration for all your summer soirees, and pretty enough to keep up all summer long! Made with crepe paper and cardstock, it’s a great project to work on with friends or spread out over a few days. Summer days are meant for crafting, am I right?

In other news, this garland also goes perfectly with our new line of Chatbooks! Next week, all six of our designs will be available during the Chatbooks summer sale! You’ll see covers using the three patterns from our wrapping paper, as well as three new corresponding ones! We can’t reveal all the fun yet, but make sure you get your pictures ready so you can cash in on some sweet deals next week over at Chatbooks! These patterns will only be available for a limited time, so don’t dilly dally. DIY summer flower garland

Oversized Holly and Berry Garland Video

oversized-holly-and-berry-paper-garlandTis’ the season for mistletoe, berries, and holly leaves! This is one of our favorite projects here at Lars, and it seems to be one of yours too! This oversized holly and berry garland was originally created to spice up my Mom’s holiday decorations and few years back (you can find the tutorial here). However, the end result was more than I could have hoped for. We made this video to take you step-by-step through the process, so you too can deck the halls with beautiful boughs of oversized holly!

DIY get away car paper garland swag

DIY paper garland swag for wedding get away car

One of the perks to living and working in Provo, Utah is a nearby university, which supplies us with some talented and hard-working interns every semester. I’m so lucky! And because I went to the same university myself, I get to see them interact in a similar environment, though they’re much cooler than I ever was (or am! ha!). Some of them are already married, getting married, or super close to getting married, which I definitely didn’t do in college (ahem, late bloomer here…) and it’s fun to hear about what’s going on in this phase of life. We have one who will be getting married soon and we came up with this DIY paper garland for her car send off at the wedding. Isn’t it beautiful?!

Their exciting phase in life also reminds me of some of the harder parts of newlywed life like budgeting or buying a car together. Such a big decision! We’ve partnered up with Capital One, a trusted auto lender to so many that has an Auto Navigator® site that makes it easy to find your dream car by giving you the option to “test drive” your different options of term length, price and vehicles.
