San Clemente book signing

In June I headed to my hometown of San Clemente, California, for a book signing at Missy’s on Del Mar. Have you been to San Clemente? It’s a low-key beach town in Southern Orange County. Whereas Laguna Beach is a bit more schamltzy, San Clemente is a more understated¬†surfer’s town. And Del Mar street is the a charming shopping street. If you’re gonna go to San Clemente, this is on the top 3 things of things to do! As you can see from my exquisite tan, I was raised in paradise ūüėČ (read: I haven’t lived there since high school hence why I’m pasty white)

Missy went above and beyond the call of duty by making a ton of projects from the book, even installing a balloon arch. Come take a look through all the photos to see all the great details. It really was so so dreamy. Plus, I LOVED seeing so many of my old dear friends who I don’t get to see very often.

Jasper accompanied me, as always, and he was once again, the star of the show.

This Girl: Halloween edition

Tilly from That Playhouse created the most beautifully adorable cotton candy costume (along with a few other rad costumes!) and I couldn’t help but make Miss Cotton Candy This Girl this week. So, of course, This Girl needs some cotton candy to nibble along with a cotton candy themed play room, no?

How to throw the garden party of the century

how to throw a garden party

Are you ready for some oooos and ahhhs?!¬†Natalie Norton did an amazing job at capturing A Midsummer Mingle and I’ve been dying to share the pics with you.

If you’re just joining me, I threw a garden party with Sarah Jane Studios, Mer Mag, One More Mushroom, Sycamore Street Press, Caravan Shoppe. It was a way to say thank you to all the people out there who support us because we couldn’t do what we love and without you. It turned out to be a party much bigger (and better!) than any of us intended, but we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out so we’re boldly calling it a success. I’m dividing the photos into two parts–they’re just too lovely not to share all of it with you. It couldn’t have happened without the support of many, many people–especially Cricut— so stick with me as I attempt to thank them here.

I learned so much from this event so I thought it might be helpful to share some tips on what to do and what NOT to do.

Prize Ribbon Gift Toppers

Prize Ribbon Gift Toppers

Do you remember receiving prize ribbons at school? They are often given for athletic events or academic competitions and commonly seen at horse races. But, have you ever looked at vintage prize ribbons? They are made with lovely silk ribbons in delicious pastel color palettes. Talk about eye-candy! In the midst of working on our book, we received the most beautiful ribbons from Angela Liguori at Studio Carta that were almost, almost, too pretty to use! They reminded me of those vintage prize ribbons, so I decided to make small prize ribbons to use as gift toppers. Because, here at Lars, we are all winners.Prize Ribbon Gift Toppers

Lucky for us our wonderful friends¬†at Meri Meri¬†had sent us some sweet Liberty London printed gift bags that were the perfect compliment to¬†our prize ribbons!¬†Friends helping friends! If you¬†are looking for quality party and craft supplies, look no further than those two companies. We want all the things! So grab some ribbons and bags to make these pretty prize ribbon gift toppers — No one will even care what’s inside!
